Calculate My Tax

Why We Built This

Every year, over 340,000 self-assessed taxpayers in Ireland need to figure out what they owe Revenue. Most of them are not tax experts. They are PAYE workers with a rental property, sole traders filing their first Form 11, or families navigating an inheritance. The information they need exists, but it is scattered across Revenue.ie, spread across accounting firm websites, and buried in legislation.

Taxo.ie brings it all together in one place. Our 11 free calculators give you instant answers using the same hardcoded tax rates, bands, and thresholds that Revenue uses. When you need more than a number - when you need to know which reliefs apply to your situation, which forms to file, and which boxes to complete - our paid reports give you a personalised action plan delivered as a branded PDF within minutes.

How the Numbers Stay Right

Tax is unforgiving. If a tax rate or threshold is wrong, the customer underpays Revenue and faces penalties plus interest. That is why every calculation on Taxo.ie is powered by deterministic, hardcoded Python and JavaScript - not by estimation, not by AI generation, not by guesswork.

Our tax constants file is a single, auditable source of truth. It is updated within 24 hours of each annual Budget speech, verified against Revenue.ie, and versioned so that every report shows exactly which tax tables were used. The same constants power both the free calculators on the website and the paid reports generated by our pipeline.

Part of a Network

Taxo.ie is part of a network of specialist Irish property and finance websites, including HomeRating.ie (BER assessments), HomeEnergyGuide.ie (SEAI grants and retrofitting), IrishPropertyGuide.ie (buying, selling and renting guides), and IrishLegalDocs.ie (legal document templates).

This network means we understand the full picture. When you buy a property, you pay stamp duty. When you rent it out, you owe rental income tax. When you sell, there is CGT. When you pass it on, there is CAT. Taxo.ie covers every stage of that journey.

What We Are Not

Taxo.ie is not a firm of accountants. Our reports are for informational and planning purposes. They are not a substitute for professional tax advice. For complex situations, we always recommend consulting a qualified tax advisor. Revenue.ie remains the authoritative source for all Irish tax matters.

Why Trust Taxo.ie

Taxo.ie is built by a SEAI-registered assessor with 16 years of hands-on experience in Irish property and tax. Every calculator and report is verified against the latest Revenue.ie rates and legislation. We do not guess, estimate, or use outdated figures.

How the Numbers Work

Our tax engine uses hardcoded 2026 rates taken directly from Revenue.ie: income tax bands, USC bands, PRSI rates, CGT rates, CAT thresholds, stamp duty tiers, and every credit and relief. These are the same figures your accountant uses. When Budget 2027 changes the rates, we update the engine before the new tax year begins.

Every report is cross-validated before delivery. The narrative explanation is generated by AI, but the numbers are calculated by a deterministic tax engine that produces the same result every time for the same inputs. The validator then checks that every figure in the narrative matches the calculated output. If anything is off, the report is regenerated.

What We Are Not

We are not accountants, tax advisors, or solicitors. Taxo.ie does not provide tax advice. We provide tax calculations and information based on the figures you give us and the current legislation. For complex personal situations, disputes with Revenue, or tax planning involving trusts, pensions, or international income, you should consult a qualified tax advisor.

Our Commitment

If your report is not useful, email us for a full refund. No questions asked, within 30 days. We would rather give your money back than have you feel short-changed. That is how confident we are in the product.

Part of a Wider Network

Taxo.ie sits alongside HomeRating.ie (BER assessments), HomeEnergyGuide.ie (energy upgrades and grants), and IrishPropertyGuide.ie (property buying guides and calculators). Together these sites cover the full lifecycle of property ownership in Ireland, from buying to renovating to letting to selling.
