Not everyone in Ireland needs to file a tax return. If your only income is PAYE employment and you have no other income sources, Revenue handles your tax through the PAYE system. But several situations trigger a filing obligation.

Key Deadlines

The Form 11 deadline for the 2025 tax year is 31 October 2026 (paper) or mid-November 2026 (ROS online). Preliminary tax for 2026 is also due by the same date.

What If I Only Have PAYE Income?

PAYE workers with no other income are not required to file a Form 11, but you may still benefit from filing a Form 12 (or using myAccount) to claim additional credits such as medical expenses, rent credit, or flat rate expenses.
